The Get Grubby Program is an innovative online curriculum subscription service, designed for both Early Years Educators and young Families. It focuses on nature and sustainability, and features bespoke video content with dirtgirl, scrapboy and Costa the Garden Gnome, activity kits, educator guides and email editions - all created to encourage active participation in sustainability learning and fun. Delivered in two distinct membership streams, EDUCATOR and FAMILY, these two programs are helping to grow a brighter future for children across the nation.

It is a holistic approach that recognises that the best outcomes for sustainability learning are achieved through practical activities that engage mind, body and spirit to build everyday behaviours. dirtgirlworld has created an easy-to-access, self serve, online program that childhood centres and schools can utilise and adapt to best suit their sustainability education objectives.

Educators can choose units and eco celebrations to inspire participation across a range of activities that can be enjoyed outdoors, indoors and taken home.The program is a set of guided learning experiences to educate and inspire young children to care for nature. Each unit features hours of practical activities and reward-based content, including video treats and achievement certificates. It is designed to reinforce positive sustainability learning experiences for young children and helps spread the message into their family environment and the wider community.

The Get Grubby Program For Families is designed for 3–10 year old’s and their families. This beautiful resource helps the whole family grow and learn together, while becoming nature loving grubsters, immersed in curious hearted play. The program celebrates nature and empowers young children and families to do little things that make a big difference. From composting and worm farming, to growing a veggie patch, getting into recycling, and growing wise about protecting and saving our water while becoming backyard nature funsters, immersed in a curious hearted childhood.

As storytellers and changemakers, we are exploring the positivity of behavioral change in a world facing the very real challenges of climate change. We aim to celebrate an engaged and beautiful sustainable life where being connected to the natural world is addictive and delightful and fun. We avoid ineffective and the overtly worthy, finger pointing approach and definitely steer clear of fear based communications. Connecting the real world to The Get Grubby Program is an incredible strength of the program. Educators and Familes are encouraged to celebrate nature and sustainability all year round with our Get Grubby Calendar!

When you join the Get Grubby family we support you to bring your community onboard with a suite of beautiful assets. These assets have been created for your newsletters and shaped for your socials. We create custom videos for you to use, a media release and are available for radio and media interviews.

You can choose to supercharge your launch with the Great Worm Challenge, incentivising educators and families to sign up by offering wormy prizes. We contribute to this by offering an educators zoom get together and a winning family zoom with Costa the Garden Gnome and his online worm farm excursion!

This program inspires us all to head outside and get grubby. And there's some very good reasons (other than the fact that it’s the best fun ever) for the GGP gang to be obsessed by their get grubby mission.

Kids on average are spending 52 hours a week with electronic media, while spending less than 40 minutes a week outside.
Pandemic living and lockdown has escalated these figures and moving into the post Covid world, the need for readjustment and encouragement about heading outside again, will be even more important. Research also suggests that kids love getting grubby…they just need inspiration.
