Top Tips for Families to Save Water - It's almost National Water Week!

Top Tips for saving water in your home:

1 - Remember to take your water bottle with you when you leave the house! Then you won’t need to buy plastic water bottles. This is better for you, and better for the planet - particularly the ocean where plastic ends up. There is a lot of water out there and we need to care for it!

2- Water your plants with greywater. This can be easy if you have a bathtub. Take small buckets of water directly to your pot plants. They will love you for it!

3- Brush your teeth with the tap off.

4 - If you are waiting for water to heat up in the shower - pop a bucket under the cold water to catch it and take it to your plants.

5 - Choose one glass or a water bottle to use at home - this will save on having to wash lots of glasses and cups

6 - If you accidentally drop ice cubes on the floor - give them to a houseplant

What other tips do you have that can save water?

On ABC there is a really cool video called River Kids. It’s all about the Murray river and tells the story of it’s beginning and caring for it’s future. Click HERE to watch it!
