Seed swap party

Hi greenthumbs!

Have you ever heard of a seed swap party? It’s a party where you swap seeds. Everyone knows I love to party and this is one of my favourite types of parties to have!!

It doesn't even have to be a big party…you could just invite three special friends over to your place.

So how do you throw a seed swap party?!

Send your invitations

Make some invitations using recycled paper and ask your grown-ups to help you pop them in the post or deliver them to your friends’ letterboxes. The invitation will need to tell them to bring three packets of seeds. They could be seeds they have collected…seeds they got from a friend… or from a nursery or seed store.

Don’t forget to put the address, date and time of your party on the invitations. And remind your friends to make sure the name of the seeds is on each packet!

Here are some cool seed swap party printables from My Frugal Home.

Swap your seeds

When it comes to the day of the party, you can swap your seeds however you like. One fun idea is to put them all in a big bowl and take turns pulling out lucky dip seeds! If you pull out a seed packet you already have, you have to put it back in and go again! If everyone brings three packets of seeds, they get to go home with three new packets of seeds! It’s a fun thing for friends to do together!

Dance!!

What else do you like to do at a party?! Dance!! I have put together some of my best happy songs for you to dance to at your seed swap party! Check it out!

So what do you think?! Are you going to have a seed swap party?! I can’t wait to hear all about it!!

Have a fun week greenthumbs!
